Kuwait, 17 August 2014: The popular M.H. Alshaya Co. Summer Retail Internship initiative, run in partnership with Kuwait’s Manpower and Government Restructuring Programme (MGRP), returns again this summer, providing young Kuwaiti students with training opportunities in the diverse world of retail. As a leading retail company in the region, Alshaya offers talented and enthusiastic young men and women with four weeks of professional training and development within some of its 70-plus world leading international brands.

Taking place from 10th August to 11th September, the Alshaya Summer Retail Internship Programme is an annual initiative which takes place during the students’ summer break and has now been running successfully for seven years. The four week programme sees Kuwaiti school and university students spend four hours daily in one of Alshaya’s stores, cafes and restaurants, giving a valuable hands-on learning and development experience to people who want to explore a career in retail. Many of Alshaya’s world-recognised brands are involved in the programme including Debenhams, Starbucks, American Eagle Outfitters, H&M, P.F. Chang’s, Bath & Body Works and KidZania Kuwait.
Retail is a growing sector in the region and is regarded as one with the most sought after career prospects with diverse career paths available for young people. With the MGRP’s continuous support and cooperation Alshaya is delighted to be considered a top choice for summer internship programmes.
