Children explore behind the scenes of a TV station with KidZania Kuwait and Al-Watan TV
Kuwait, 18 July 2013: KidZania Kuwait and their latest industry partner, Al-Watan TV, are proud to showcase the new Al-Watan TV Studio as one of the recently opened child-sized city’s innovative establishments. As Kuwait’s leading local television and broadcasting station, the studio adds another valuable dimension to the award winning KidZania concept. Al-Watan TV’s establishment, in the child-centric city operated by M. H. Alshaya Co., will provide youngsters with stimulating activities that allow them to experience what it is like behind the scenes of a TV production.
Children will role-play as camera operators who direct and operate safe television equipment, or as a technical crew member who controls lights/sounds and helps the cast follow the prompter. Children can also choose to be anchors and present the latest news updates, or as TV hosts and prepare a topic to present to a live audience. Al-Watan TV’s establishment presents diverse techniques for developing children’s teamwork skills and creativity.
“Al-Watan TV is proud to be part of this enriching partnership with KidZania Kuwait,” said Waleed Al-Jasem, CEO and Chairman of Al-Watan TV. “KidZania offers children an advanced and dynamic platform to better understand, explore and sharpen their interests and skills. This falls in line with our goals, as we believe educating Kuwait’s youth is the most important contribution for the future. We look forward to providing children with the opportunity to discover TV studio functions, while building a strong bond with our future audience.”
Commenting on the new partnership, Fernando Medora, Vice President of Leisure & Entertainment at M. H. Alshaya Co. said: “Our partnership with Al-Watan TV delivers a truly exceptional media hands-on experience for our visitors and supports our vision of developing the skills and abilities of children, as well as introducing them to diverse career opportunities.”
In addition to media production and broadcast, KidZania Kuwait offers children the chance to engage in 100 activities, and role-play 80 professions, such as doctor, firefighter, pilot and many more. KidZania Kuwait officially opened its doors to children across Kuwait on 17 June 2013 and is now welcoming hundreds of visitors every day to their city located at the Mall - The Avenues.
