Alshaya Retail Academy will offer 8000 young Saudi men and women certified training courses and employment opportunities at Alshaya retail outlets
Riyadh, 12 May 2012: Alshaya has entered into a strategic partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) in Saudi Arabia. Under the agreement, Saudi citizens registered for the ‘Hafiz’ programme – part of the HRDF initiative to encourage and support the employment of Saudi citizens in the private sector – can enrol in the Alshaya Retail Academy, the first training facility of its kind in the country to offer certified training courses in retail sales techniques. Upon successful completion of the training courses, graduates will be offered full-time employment positions across Alshaya’s many retail outlets in the country.
Signed by Ibrahim Al-Moaiqel, the Director General of HRDF and Saoud Alshaya, the Director General of Alshaya’s operation in KSA, the partnership agreement will oversee the employment of 8000 young Saudi men and women in the retail sector over the next five years.
“This agreement aims to support and develop the national workforce within the private sector,” commented Ibrahim Al-Moaiqel. “The Human Resources Development Fund seeks to be a driving mechanism behind the growth of Saudi citizens in the private sector, which will in turn reflect positively on our national economy.”

The Alshaya Retail Academy will provide professional and certified training courses that are administered by leading experts and professionals in the retail industry. In addition, the academy will have branches across the Kingdom including Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam.
