توب مان الخريف شتاء 2013

25 July 2013:

SUB-SPORTS – AUGUST / SEPTEMBER

As a conscious move away from strictly ‘heritage’ stories, this trend seamlessly blends modern sportswear and fashion influences with contemporary street styling. A cool and crisp neutral colour palette features flashes of iridescent colour, creating a forward-looking luxe-sport story.

Shapes are simple with exaggerated proportions hinting at 90s streetwear, while puffer jackets, panelled bombers and subtly tailored jogger shapes become the new urban uniform. Plays on texture (matte and shine, smooth and textured, solid and perforated) are also key.

Clean, contrast colour-blocking and striking cut and sew details are key here, showcasing new textured fabrics, classic sportswear constructions and soft-touch leather and suede. High shine foiled details and reflective panels update basic silhouettes and accessories for an ultra-modern finish.

URBAN OUTDOORS – SEPTEMBER / OCTOBER

Usually more comfortable within the confines of their concrete jungle, the urban dweller is exploring the vast open spaces, gorges and lakes that the great outdoors have to offer. Wanting to do so in their own inimitable way, the result is an unusual and exciting mix of streetwear and traditional outdoor gear.

Bold new puffas are worn with indigo denims and bright white trainers; waxed trek jackets with baggy sweat pants; large scale hunting checks are worn with skinny black jeans and skate plims and the outdoors staple; fleece makes a return, cut and sewn with nylons and cottons for a younger take.

The resulting mix is a fresh-looking blend of 90s sports colours, exciting streetwear and traditional outdoor gear. The palette is a mix of earthy tones and high vis brights, with a strong check story as well as tongue-in-cheek print story inspired by all things ‘hunting & fishing’.

KREMLIN – NOVEMBER / DECEMBER

As it becomes more of a financial focus on the world stage, Russia's rich culture summons up luxe textures, sumptuous outerwear and embellished knits and leisurewear. The trend for baroque patterns moves into more tasteful territory, leaving summer's heavily printed designs behind in favour of a more old-school take. Prints take on the appearance of tapestry-effects, referencing Byzantine art more than animal skins and equestrian bridlery.

This decorative theme fuses well with sharp, tailored military shapes for smart, jackets and shirts which provide a very masculine edge to this flamboyant story. 'Inside-out' styling also makes an appearance here. There is also a strong and very key casual element, inspired by 'street’ looks which sees T-shirts, sweats and accessories with bold and intricate prints, highlighted in gold and foils which update key menswear pieces from the snapback to the hoody.
