It’s All About Elevated Pieces and Layers

14 October, 2015: Silhouette and fabrics are the focus for men at H&M this autumn/winter 2015, with the emphasis on coats, jackets and knitwear that are both fine and textured. A specific selection of elevated pieces defines the layered look of modern lifestyle, with a colour palette of greys and pale blues inspired by the light of a winter beach.

“I love the shift in menswear to elevated pieces, where cut and cloth are key. At H&M we’ve created a layered look, where a looser tailored silhouette is defined by cleanly cut lines,” said Andreas Löwenstam, H&M’s Head Menswear Designer.

RAGLAN COAT – Long and unlined, the raglan-sleeve coat is both effortless and elegant, with a minimalist cut to cocoon against the elements.

TECHNICAL PARKA – Functionality is key for this grey technical parka that’s one of the season’s essentials, with a lining in faux shearling.

TEDDY ZIP-UP – This zip-up jacket is directional and warming in grey teddy-bear pile. Proportion comes into play with its cropped shape and wide lapel.

THE BOMBER – The copper shade adds a warmth to the utilitarian classic, one of the most versatile pieces in the modern man’s wardrobe.

WORKWEAR JACKET – Grey wool felt adds a modern twist to the classic men’s workwear jacket, elevating a functional style with its sharpness.

ROLLNECK SWEATER – Anchor the season’s look with a cashmere blend rollneck, defining the season’s air of relaxed yet elevated menswear.

TEXTURED KNITS – Mohair blend knits add texture to sweaters, especially those that are ribbed, or with bands of camel and grey at the waist.

ELONGATED SHIRT – The shirt becomes an important layering piece when lengthened in cotton poplin, giving a new sense of proportion.

TERRAIN JACQUARD SHIRT – A jacquard shirt with a pattern like terrain, this press-stud fastened shirt can almost be worn as an outerwear.

RELAXED PANT – Straight yet relaxed, the new trouser shape in wool mix confirms the importance of a looser tailored silhouette.

KNIT SCARF – The ultimate accessory for the season: both warming, and also the perfect feature needed around the neck.
