Structured along internationally recognized lines, the Retail Division is headed by a Chief Executive Officer and operated on a daily basis by Chief Operating Officers with geographical responsibility for the Middle East and Europe.
Within the Middle East, reporting to the COO, there are a number of Key Business Units: Fashion & Footwear, Casual Dining, Starbucks, H&M, Health & Beauty, Optics and Pharmacy each headed by a Managing Director focusing solely on their own businesses with full Divisional responsibility and a complete P&L accountability.
Within the Business Units, there is no common management structure as each has evolved according to its own needs. That said, there are a number of generic roles such as Business Directors, Brand Managers and Operations Managers. It is the Business/Brand Manager’s responsibility to deliver the business proposition in a manner that is both in keeping with the Franchise partner framework and is in line with Alshaya’s Retail strategy.
All businesses within the Middle East remain closely aligned to a single corporate identity by sharing the support of Central HR, Finance, Property, Supply Chain, Audit, Loss Prevention and I.T.
A similar infrastructure has also been established within the individual countries in our European Division. Each country is headed by a Managing Director and a dedicated team of Directors responsible for the management of the individual business units and support functions.
It’s clearly recognized that People are our major resource and play an absolute key role in the success of our business.
Our remit is to become “Employer of Choice” offering clear career opportunity in a market with dynamic socio/economic demographics. |
